About Suregrip
John L. Wintz, the creator of a rubber inlay wheel invented for roller skates, started Suregrip back in 1936. Before that, wheels used a material that was seen in factory machines where high friction was required. Suregrip realised that this material would give the skate wheel long wear while the rubber inlays would give them grip. This technology changed the rollerskating industry and for Suregrip as a company. Since then they have been innovating with new designs and engineering. Like the light weight aluminium and magnesium plates which changed the scene all over again.
